The Shiawassee River in winter is picture postcard perfect!!! I was frawn to this view because the Oak trees were so abundant in the area. They keep their red-orange leaves on their branches longer and and brighten and reflect in the river.
The Shiawassee River is part of a large watershed in mid Michigan comprising 5 or 6 rivers which feed the Saginaw Bay and into Lake Huron. It's also a great spot for a winter kayak trip. A group called "Headwaters Trails" kayaks and maintains the Shiawassee River in all seasons
