The perimeter of LAKE MICHIGAN is peppered with many picturesque parks and beaches. In addition to the fabulous WILDERNESS STATE PARK, there are the beaches of Sturgeon Bay. This type of dune and beach expanse is typical of Lake Michigan and the Sturgeon Bay beaches offers a more primitive beach experience. There is not much around Sturgeon Bay.
As a MICHIGAN Painter I recognize that water (in any shape or form) draws artists to paint this wonderful state. Being on this beach and painting it gives me a chance to share this with you. This place is peaceful as well as turbulent depending on the mood of the weather. I have to paint it.
I liked the strong light on the dunes...better to warm that sand for your toes.
